Top 10 Soft Skills: With these skills you earn more everywhere

Top 10 Soft Skills: With these skills you earn more everywhere

Soft skills
Soft skills, unlike professional skills (hard skills), are entirely about you as a person. They are composed of personal competence, social competence and methodological competence, and thus make up what your employer interests you as a person. In addition to your qualifications and credentials, your soft skills are always taken into account and even if you are at work, they have a huge impact on your current and future salary. Maybe you have already noticed that it is not the employee who gets the best job who does the best job. In most cases, employees land in leadership positions that can position themselves well and perform well. This may not always be a clever move, but it is the standard one should follow.

Now, as a competent master of his profession, you can get upset about it or take advantage of the fact by actively improving your soft skills. It does not matter what is fair or unfair - what you make of it is important. The great side-effect: When you work on your soft skills, they make you a more competent, popular and happy person. Personal growth and self-optimization is the healthiest and most exciting thing you can do in your professional life - let's get started!

Personal competence
Let's start with personal competence. These include skills such as self-confidence, self-discipline, self-reflection, personal responsibility and motivation. So it's all about how you deal with yourself. You are dependent on yourself anyway and you have to spend your entire life with yourself, so it is necessary to become better and stronger at this level. Concretely, this is done by changing your thinking.

Do not see yourself as a passive plaything in your environment, but as an active player. You are protagonist and author at the same time and can direct your life to where you want it to be. You can internalize this knowledge and draw strength and motivation from it. Only if you take yourself seriously and take good care of yourself will you be able to trust yourself and be disciplined. Over and over again, controlling yourself and questioning it critically is the self-reflection that absolutely needs to be attuned to others. If you put yourself at the center of your life long-term and enforce your will, then you continue to act on your own, you are disciplined and thereby gain confidence in yourself.

Social competence
When you work on yourself and become an increasingly competent person, others notice it. Our lives are only worth living through interacting with others, and you probably spent the happiest hours of your life with friends and family. There is hardly a better way to be happy than to get along well with your fellow human beings. For that you need social skills. Part of your social skills are teamwork, critical thinking, empathy and style. It may be difficult to acquire these things, but it is well done by two factors.

Self-Reflection: When you observe yourself closely and work on yourself, you quickly notice where your strengths and weaknesses lie. Using your strengths and seeing your weaknesses as temporary is hugely important. So you can gradually become what you want from others. Conversely, you are much more interesting and attractive to the people you would like to surround yourself with. You are also more attractive to yourself and can draw courage and strength from both components to venture into social situations that are (still) difficult for you. Factor 2 comes into play here.

Exercise: If you want to get better at something, it always takes practice. Even if you can not sing at all and certainly do not want to sing, you could be a public performer in 2-3 years (whether in an indie band or in the choir is initially secondary). The only thing you have to do is practice. Practice like everyone else. It is the same with all social situations. You have to go to new ones again and again to get along better with others. Especially if it makes you feel uncomfortable, you should make it a goal for you to get in contact with people on a regular basis. This is not as comfortable as being in the circle of friends all the time to confirm and celebrate, but it ensures that you get both long-term from many other people. And yes,

methodical competence
Time Management, Organization Skill, Structured Workflow, etc. - All these soft skills save you a lot of work and a lot more time. Time is the most valuable thing you can possibly have and therefore it is beautiful if you can use it more profitably. If, for example, I am able to write this text here in half the time (with good quality, of course) then I have twice as much manpower. And this example is not out of thin air, because when I was still working assignments I could earn twice as much as a friend of mine, which is about equal paid. That's because I improve my methodological competence steadily and systematically. There are plenty of books and video courses that will help you do that. In fact, to improve this area, you have to do a very blunt research on different techniques and try them one after the other. Then you judge for you which has brought the most and was the most pleasant. You will keep these in the future and supplement them. Make it a habit (how that works has been superbly done by Tony Robbins)The Power Principle "and enjoy how much they simplify your life.

The 10 soft skills that increase your salary
Employers are pretty much in agreement about which soft skills they want. So if you want to increase your salary, then you know exactly where to start. Although I'm sure that you already know most soft skills well and also know what it is about. Anyway, I'll give you a little start-up help with each skill on the following lines to help you build the right soft skill on a solid foundation.

initiative

Self-initiative is often just an empty phrase of which one does not know what is actually expected or where it should come from. Granted, there is no such thing as a perfect path, but it helps a lot when you think about your "why". Why are you doing the job you are doing? Why are you doing anything? What do you want to achieve? Who are you? Ask yourself many questions and try to answer them as honestly and clearly as possible. Even if your answer in the end is only: "I am a merchant, because I make damn much money and of it I can buy things that I enjoy and much more I do not want from life." So a clear "why" have a miracle, because by answering it you can motivate yourself to almost anything. Just find the point where the goals of your boss are relevant to you and you show your own initiative. (Example: Your boss wants to make more money and is therefore looking for a new clientele, then you can say to yourself: "If I volunteer to take care of the acquisition, then if I have great success and the goal achieved by my boss is thus at the next salary negotiation score and earn more money. "

Analytical thinking

Not seeing things emotionally but perceiving them as clearly realistic and undyed helps in many situations. You can imagine analytic thinking, as in the BBC series "Sherlock" (highly recommended, by the way). You look at a situation, learn to understand it and use logic to get to the necessary action steps. What helps you to learn analytical thinking is solving logic puzzles or reading philosophical works.

communication skills

When you are among people, look closely at how they talk, how they gesticulate and how they move. Pay attention to what reactions they get to their behavior and copy the behavior that triggers good responses and avoid those that are followed by unsightly reactions. Of course, that's a lot simpler now, and you have to be careful to act according to your self-image, but basically, this simple habit can change a lot. Having the foundation set allows you to focus on how you talk, what you say, and how you get both understood and achieve your goals.

teamwork

Have understanding for others, be open, assume that your colleagues only want the best for themselves and others, and focus on your similarities. If you bring the team forward, you'll also drive yourself forward. If your colleagues are not as far as you, or even refuse to actively cooperate, then do not fret, but collect evidence about what you've done well in concrete terms. If your colleagues have done a really bad job, it will sooner or later be noticed. You can prepare for this moment and defend yourself accordingly. In general, however: Be a stable personality and the rest comes on its own.

motivation

Your performance is what you get paid for. If your work is just a little fun, then the willingness to perform usually comes on its own. If not, you can still discipline yourself and keep your goals in mind. Often, doing nothing and not getting caught doing much more strenuous than doing a lot. The latter is fairer and makes for a better self-image.

enthusiasm

As a child, most of us were happy. One of the key factors in this is the enthusiasm of children, which makes them engage in everything and everyone. If you rediscover why you are doing what you are doing, then it will bring back the joy and enthusiasm.

load-bearing capacity

This soft skill is often converted into self-injurious behavior. Overtime, stress, hierarchy pressure and much more make the workplace a personal hell for some. If you want to be resilient in a healthy way, then focus on yourself and what you can take out of adverse circumstances. So you do not let yourself be so carried away and tortured by external circumstances.

Entrepreneurial thinking and action

Entrepreneurs think about making money and that's not bad either. Entrepreneurs know how money works and are actively developing in this area. Do it to your boss right there and you'll understand him better and you're on the same wavelength. Incidentally, this is exactly what we teach you in our basic course in financial intelligence . And let's be honest: you would like to have more money, right?

sense of responsibility

Understanding yourself as the agent and active overriding of your own will will make you radiate your strong sense of responsibility. Do you trade appropriately responsible? Do you do absolutely everything right and you are also appreciated socially. Keep up with your words, actions and goals, then you are already master in this soft skill.

Occur

When you get to know yourself well and reflect on your social interaction, you will gradually improve your appearance. Dare to live yourself the way you want and you will find a good way to deal with you and others in the long term. This requires self-confidence in the truest sense of the word, because when you are aware of yourself, you know how you want to work, and you also learn how to work that way.

Performance orientation

No matter what you do, in the end, outsiders will only ever care about the result. This is not always nice or fair or otherwise, but it can bring you a lot of money. Focusing purely on the result makes finding an effective way to this result easier. Always act according to the Pareto principle and do the 20% of the activities that make up 80% of the result first. This will save you time, effort, effort and money for your boss who will love you for it.

I wish you success in improving your soft skills and making more money!
